1.2 Camera and Photos

Love2Taste requires access to your device's camera to scan wine labels and bottles. We process these images to:

• Recognize wine bottles and labels using AI
• Extract wine information from labels
• Save scans to your local device for your personal wine collection

Wine label images are stored locally on your device and are only sent to our AI services for processing when you initiate a scan. We do not store these images on our servers.

1.3 Usage Data and Analytics

We automatically collect certain information when you use Love2Taste, including:

• Device information (type, operating system, unique device identifiers)
• App usage statistics (features used, frequency of use, scan success rates)
• Performance data (crashes, errors, load times)
• Wine search history and scan history
• Interaction with wine recommendations

1.4 Location Information

We do not collect precise location data. However, we may derive approximate location from your IP address to:

• Provide relevant wine recommendations
• Display prices in your local currency
• Comply with regional regulations

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide Core Features: Recognize wine labels, retrieve wine information, generate tasting notes and food pairing suggestions
• Personalization: Tailor wine recommendations based on your preferences and wine history

3. Third-Party Services

Love2Taste integrates with the following third-party services:

3.1 OpenAI

We use OpenAI's services to power our wine recognition, information retrieval, and recommendation features. When you scan a wine label, the image and extracted text are sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI's use of this data is governed by their privacy policy.

3.2 Firebase (Google)

We use Google Firebase for:

• Analytics: Understanding app usage and performance
• Crash Reporting: Identifying and fixing technical issues
• Cloud Storage: Storing your wine collection data (if cloud sync is enabled)

Firebase data collection is subject to Google's privacy policy.

3.3 Payment Processing

Subscription payments are processed through Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We do not store your payment card information. Payment processing is subject to Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Local Storage

Most of your data, including wine scans, favorites, and preferences, is stored locally on your device. This data remains under your control and is not transmitted to our servers except as necessary to provide services (e.g., AI wine recognition).

4.2 Security Measures

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit using SSL/TLS
• Secure API communications
• Regular security audits
• Limited access to personal information

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information

• Use the "Clear All Data" option in the app's Settings

• Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data

• We process your data based on your consent or to fulfill our contract with you

Love2Taste is intended for users aged 21 and older (or the legal drinking age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the legal drinking age. If we discover that we have collected information from someone under the legal age, we will delete it immediately.

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. These countries may have different data protection laws. When we transfer data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information.

10. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations:

• Wine Scans: Stored locally on your device until you delete them

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
• Updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy

Your continued use of Love2Taste after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

13. Analytics and Advertising

We use analytics services to understand how users interact with Love2Taste. We do not currently display third-party advertisements in the app. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide opt-out options.
